THE ESTABLISMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF GRAND GLORY

Grand Glory Company Ltd., was established in 2002 with a mission to enter Myanmar’s engineering and construction sector as a national company operating in Yangon and throughout the country. Grand Glory Company Ltd., is a private limited company. It has been built up over the past 15 years by its Managing Director Mr. Nay Linn assisted by four Directors and it enjoys a reputation as a reliable, quality and safety conscious company currently employing 200 direct employees which form the core of the company’s workforce and specialist subcontractors who vary in number according to the company’s workload which is spread throughout the country. Our expertise spans the construction industry spectrum, from smaller renovations to multi-million dollar projects. More and more of our clients are turning to us for our distinctive ability to identify and implement new and innovative construction projects.

Our team of construction professionals offers a single source solution for all of your construction related needs. Whether it’s restoration, site preparation, a new facility or facility renovation, we have the experience and personnel to provide the highest quality construction on schedule and within budget. We support our clients from project inception, to the commissioning of the fully operational facility. Our network of local offices enables us to offer our clients the dual advantage of a strong local presence and broad geographic reach.

Building a successful project is contingent on the management capabilities of the company performing the work and always based on client satisfaction. Continuously building quality projects requires a company-wide mindset that unites all team members behind one main purpose - Building Excellence. We believe integrity and highly performance standards must come from the top and this is why our senior executives are involved in our projects from day one and stay involved until handover and completion at the end of the maintenance period.

ORGANIZATION

Besides the Architects and Engineers employed directly by Grand Glory we have worked with numerous professional Architects and Engineers.

Our Clients and the professional teams we have worked with will provide references if required. Besides the professional teams with whom we have worked we directly employ a broad based team of professionals whose CVs and construction industry experience. We do not hesitate to hire external professionals either domestic or international to resolve any problem which we feel we are not competent to handle.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE LABOUR FORCE

From the above schedule of completed contracts it is clear that the company possesses and/or has access to a very wide set of skills. Grand Glory’s achievement of the completion of high quality buildings clearly demonstrates its commitment to the training of its labor force. There is no formal technical apprentice training for the building industry in Myanmar and the company has therefore adopted a “hands on” training program for its unskilled labors enabling them to climb the ladder to efficiency in their chosen trade.

COMPLETED CONTRACTS

To date the company has built a wide variety of buildings, including infrastructure. The following is a selection of completed projects:-

  • • 120’ x 90’ Indoor Sports Stadium, Daedaye Tsp, Ayeyawaddy Region.
  • • Residential Project comprising units 6 storey buildings at U Chit Maung Street, Yangon;
  • • Geophysical Survey for SPA, under the management of Meinhard’s Engineers, of the ground conditions in the area surrounding the old Railway Headquarters building for the proposed development of Landmark Project
  • • Boxing Indoor Stadium for Sea Game at Nay Pyi Taw
  • • Retrofitting and Renovation of the Yenar Heritage Monastery in Kyaukse;
  • • Basic Education High School Number (11) in Nay Pyi Taw;
  • • Technological University in Kyaukse for Ministry of Science & Technology;
  • • Union Assembly Hall in Institute of Sports and Physical Education, Yangon;
  • • 5 Steel Structures (660’ x130’) for Plywood Factory in Kyaukse;
  • • Complex for Institute of Sports and Physical Education, Mandalay;
  • • Mya Buyin Dairy Products Factory in Kyaukse : Steel Structure Installation;
  • • Modern Badminton Stadium at Kyongyi Street, Yangon;
  • • JV with Asia World Co., Ltd @ City Hall for Administrative Capital at Nay Pyi Taw;
  • • JV with Asia World Port Terminal @ Hteetan, Yangon;
  • • JV with Asia World Co., Ltd @ Yangon International Airport Extension Project;

SAFETY

Grand Glory is committed to safety and this commitment is central to everything we do. Our proactive approach creates value for our clients and safeguards our most important asset: our employees. Our entire team is dedicated to maintaining a safety-focused and environmentally sound business; our safety culture is promoted by each member of our team through planning, implementing and evaluating safety practices on a daily basis.

Our safety program is proactive and action-oriented; everyone from management to trades people are involved in making a zero-incident workplace a reality. We use planning sessions, ongoing safety inspections, weekly safety meetings, special equipment training and safety manual reviews to assist in attaining our goal of zero incidents.

Our supervisors receive training classes in Fall Protection, Excavation and Trenching, First Aid, CPR and Confined Space Entry Procedures and Substance Abuse Awareness and Recognition.

Our substance abuse program includes Pre-hire, Post Accident, Fitness for Duty, For Cause and Random Drug and Alcohol Testing. All employees, including management, are subject to random testing.

Our safety culture focuses on keeping motivational messages and emotions at the forefront of everything we do with posters and banners placed throughout our projects.
